Moment of Glory for Our Students!

Several young artists from our school have won multiple honors at the prestigious Australian Creative Painting Competition. Every year, the City of Subiaco hosts this event, named after the renowned Western Australian illustrator Shaun Tan, to encourage students from Year 1 to Year 12 to showcase their artistic talents. This year marks the 22nd edition of the competition.

Many of our students, initially hesitant and tearful, were encouraged by teachers and parents to submit their works. Their perseverance paid off as they not only made it to the finals but also won from third to first place in both the primary and senior categories.

This year, Shaun Tan recorded an inspiring video message, urging everyone not to abandon traditional painting skills and their essence despite the rise of AI technology. The 2024 Shaun Tan Awards ceremony was a vibrant celebration of colour and creativity, attracting participation from primary and secondary school students. The judges praised all the works highly and expressed special admiration for the winners’ exceptional talent.
